Analysis to understanding of the term "legal proceedings"

This article explores the essence of the concept «legal proceedings». This concept does not have a normative definition, and in scientific publications different authors assign it a different functional role. It is believed that legal proceedings constitute an integral part of the legal process. However, an analysis of the views of scientists regarding the signs of legal proceedings and the legal process showed that these concepts coincide in content. This study is an opportunity to think about bringing the conceptual apparatus in order at the level of the general theory of law. If the legal community considers it necessary to distinguish between legal proceedings and the legal process, then it is necessary to identify the differences between these concepts and explain them in a consistent, logical way. If there was no question of principle, the following could be considered synonymous and used together with others.
