Oday, increasing publication activity is an urgent task for the scientific world. Scientific publications of employees of a higher educational or research institution are an important indicator of the rating. The system of scientometric indicators is used to evaluate the work of researchers, educational and scientific organizations. When choosing a journal to publish an article, the values of the journal's bibliometric indicators are important. The article provides a brief review of the literature on indicators of publication activity, as well as a cluster analysis of important bibliometric indicators of scientific journals in the direction of "Automation. Computer Engineering": a five-year impact factor without self-citation, a five-year Herfindahl index for citing journals. Bibliometric indicators will help the author to navigate the variety of scientific journals. The examples of automated recommendation systems for the selection of Scopus/WoS journals are the systems Elsevier Journal Finder, Edanz Journal Selector, Springer Journal Suggester, etc. The cluster analysis is implemented in the Matlab software package. The most important indicators that are taken into account by the author when choosing a journal for publishing an article are determined. Recommendation systems allow you to take into account a set of bibliometric and other indicators and simplify the process of choosing a journal.
