Analysis of the consequences of deregulation of the Russian electricity market on the electricity price

The article devoted to the implications of the policy of deregulating the electricity market in Russia, which is used by many countries. It is connected with reduction of state control over doing business and stimulating free competition, which has a significant impact on the pricing process. The results of the reform of the electric power complex of Russia are shown. The article provides an analysis of domestic and foreign literature on the problem of research. The research reveals the pricing system in the electricity market. The methods of pricing electricity in the current Russian conditions is described. The study analyzes the dynamics of the average price of electricity in the wholesale and retail market, including in comparison with GDP dynamics, as well as power prices and average weighted prices for the population by federal districts from 2011 to 2016. The main factors that influenced the dynamics of electricity prices were identified. In addition, the main problems are currently identified in this area. Practical measures have been proposed to use the potential of energy saving, as well as to use the opportunities of the digital economy. Critical remarks were made on the new model of retail market liberalization submitted for discussion.
