Analysis of legal aspects to counter environmental crimes and other violations of environmental legislation during the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

Introduction: the article examines the current trends in Russian legislation aimed at combating crimes and other violations of legislation in the field of environmental protection, describes the main changes in legal regulation and practice of environmental protection over the past 20 years. Materials and methods: the legal framework of the study is formed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the legislation based on it, the rules of which are aimed at ensuring the rule of law in the field of environmental protection. The methodology of the work includes the use of General scientific methods (in particular, analysis, observation, generalization, comparison, description). In addition, special methods of legal science, including comparative law and formal law, were used in the implementation of the work. Results of the study: the author describes some measures to counteract violations of environmental legislation of a special criminological nature (including improving the legal regulation of criminal liability for environmental crimes, education and development of specialized environmental units in law enforcement agencies), as well as General social nature (in particular, the introduction of new environmental and legal instruments for environmental protection and regulation of economic activity, that has a negative impact on the environment)...
