Protected birds in the areas of special cobservation interest of emerald networkin European Russia

We analyze the state of protected species of birds in the Areas of Special Conservvation Interest (ASCI) of the Emerald Network in the European Russia. Field research and publications analysis significantly widens the lists of target bird species in a number of ASCI. We estimate the percentage of protected birds in ASCI, showing the necessity to expand the Emerald Network in European Russia, along with further studies of its avifauna.
