Analysis of psychological factors of socio-psychological adaptation of adolescents with obesity

The article is devoted to the study of psychological factors of socio-psychological adaptation of adolescents with obesity. It is determined that the problem of socio-psychological adaptation and socialization of adolescents suffering from obesity is relevant and poorly studied in modern psychological and pedagogical research, there is a shortage of empirical data. The authors believe that obesity negatively affects the socio-psychological adaptation of adolescents, since any somatic disease reduces the quality of life, and obesity also affects the self-attitude of a teenager. An analysis of existing publications has shown that obese adolescents are significantly more likely to experience negative emotional states, including depressive manifestations, aggressiveness, neuroticism, they are less sociable, negative self-esteem and various character accentuations are often observed, all this significantly affects the level of socio-psychological adaptation of a teenager.
