Analysis of the development of regional medical tourism in Russia

The article discusses the relevance and prospects for the development of regional medical tourism in the context of closed borders and the inability to expand the boundaries of international medical tourism. The aim of the study is to study the development of regional medical tourism in modern conditions. Research methods: analysis, generalization, comparison, statistical data processing, graphical methods of data presentation. The object of research is regional medical tourism. The subject of the study is the factors influencing the development of regional medical tourism and the prospects for its development. The article deals with the theoretical aspects of the concept and essence of medical tourism, as well as the issues of methodology for analyzing the medical tourism market. The article also provides statistical data on the development of medical tourism in the region of Russia. This allows us to conclude that practically no attention is paid to the development of medical tourism infrastructure in remote regions of Russia. Despite the fact that medical tourism in Russia as a whole shows a positive trend, but at the regional level this direction of tourism has its own problems, in the article shows 6 points. We got the result: the largest medical tourism activity occurs in the Central and Southern Federal Districts, which are associated with important infrastructure for medical tourism.
