Analysis of the rating of global competitiveness of Russia

This article is devoted to the analysis of the compilation methodology of the Global Competitiveness Rating of a country published in the report of the World Economic Forum. The article reveals the essence of the country's international competitiveness; reveals the features of compiling the Global Competitiveness Rating; analyzes the dynamics of Russia's competitiveness in this rating for 2013-2019; the advantages of the rating methodology are noted, among which are: continuous improvement of the methodology, wide coverage of various areas of economic activity based on reliable and survey data, the report contains an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of countries' competitiveness, and also reveals shortcomings, such as the subjectivity of the assessment and periodic regrouping of components aggregate indicators.
