The problem of the geometrical description automation of technical objects with an irregular surface for CAD designing is considered. Systems of the automated description (digitizing) of irregular surfaces are analyzed. The basic quality parameters of digitizing system are given. Their estimation will provide efficiency of these systems introduction in manufacturing. Photogrammetric systems as the most effective means for CAD designing of the irregular form objects at the light industry enterprises are considered.
