The frequency of bacteriemia and causation of excreted microflora in the development of complications in CHD infants was studied. The initial state of a group of infants with follow-up complications was characterized by a circulatory failure in 78.6% cases and hypotrophy-in 67.4%. The incidence of bacteriemia in the infants group studied (n = 98) came to 19,4%. Bacteriemia was more often observed in children of the first three months of life (64.3%). Out of 609 patients in the first year of life, 4.59% of them developed infectious complications, with pneumonia and sepsis being the prevalent ones. The most significant microorganisms in the development of septic complications are known to be Candida and Klebsiella pneumoniafungi However, detection of microorganisms is not always a sign of infection generalization.
