Analysis of state and dynamics of forests in Russian Federation

The article provides an overview of the scientific research of the Department Analytical Research of the State and Dynamics of Forests at the FBU VNIILM, which are related to various aspects of materials analysis and data on the state of forests and are aimed at improving information and analytical support for forest management at the federal and regional levels, decision support, and reporting on forest resources and forestry for executive authorities of the Russian Federation at all levels, the public and international forest organizations. The article provides examples of modern information technologies developed by employees of the department, which are necessary for the preparation of scientifically based management decisions.
