Analysis of the current state and development trend of the gas industry of Azerbaijan

The article analyzes the current state and development trend of the gas industry in Azerbaijan. A systematic approach is considered in the development of a strategy for the innovative development of the gas industry and the composition of the main direction, and the stages of development of the gas industry. The state of natural gas production in Azerbaijan was analyzed, the main directions and prospects of natural gas in the country were considered. It was noted that the main volume of natural gas in the republic is produced in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The predicted reserves of natural gas in the AR (including oil gas) are analyzed according to national and foreign sources and promising large gas condensate deposits identified in recent years in the geological structure of the deep water sections of the Caspian Sea. The geographical location and rich natural resources allow the Azerbaijan Republic to become a reliable exporter of natural gas, not only from its own, but also through transportation from the Caspian countries. An analysis was made of the current state of the country’s pipeline and gas transportation infrastructure and resources to ensure the export supply of natural gas to the European market. The advantage of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the Caspian region in the field of gas business, the benefits for all project participants and the prospects for the construction of new gas pipelines along the Azerbaijani-Turkish route have been studied.
