The article deals with the data on the geological and geomorphological dynamics of the Volga and Akhtuba floodplain, sedimentation, features of the structure of ancient and modern alluvium, the development of meandering and evolution of meanders. The factual material is described: the geological outcrops, some key geomorphological features.
