Analysis of the structural changes in the regional economy

The article deals with the problems of economic restructuring in the Vologda Oblast in the period of market reforms and the way of their solution on the base of rapid diversification of the economy, which is one of the priority problems at the present stage of social and economic development of the region. There is a conclusion about the necessity of effective use of the territory's competitive advantages oriented to increased internal potential of the region and strengthening of its position in the inter-regional and international markets.
