The labor market is one of the state-regulated sectors that is most dynamically developed. This is due to the ongoing structural economic changes affecting the social structure and reflecting the evolution of Russia as a whole. The research analyzes the labor market dynamics in Russia. The main objective of the study is to determine what changes have taken place in the last decade in the employment sector, namely, how such categories as the demand for labor and the labor supply have changed. Besides, the research examines the structural transformations of the labor market by a case study of the Republic of Tatarstan. The results obtained demonstrate the changes in classifying the average annual number of employed population according to types of economic activity and identify the role of the state and regional authorities in the labor market regulation.
