Analysis of the technological process of nitric acid production

The characteristic of the process of nitric acid production by contact oxidation of ammonia is given, and the target product, nitric acid, is also characterized. The basic technological equipment is considered and described. The material and heat balance of nitric acid production is calculated. The physical heats of arrival and consumption, heat from exothermic reactions, heat supplied from outside, the amount of nitrogen entering the system with the air flow, the amount of oxygen consumed to oxidize ammonia to nitrogen oxides are calculated.
