The article discusses a new technology for blocking unlicensed content on smart TVs. The author considers the advantages and disadvantages of technology, its potential impact on access to information and privacy. Based on the study, there have been also defined the principles by which a balance of competing interests in developing a system that will effectively prevent downloading and watching pirated content on smart TVs is achieved.
