Analysis of the conditions for prospective socio-economic development of the Sverdlovsk region

The article is devoted to the analysis of strategic planning documents that form the conditions for the long-term socio-economic development of a traditional industrial region. The author examines existing strategic and program decisions at the federal and regional levels that stimulate the socio-economic development of the region. In the study, the author identifies key challenges and opportunities for the development of those types of activities in which the Sverdlovsk region specializes, identifies priority directions for the development of the main industries of the region, as well as destructive factors influencing the development of industrial-type municipalities. The author also analyzes the works of domestic scientists devoted to solving problems in this area of research. The result of the study is the author’s proposed scheme for the formation of conditions for the long-term development of industrial-type municipalities as the main factor in the socio-economic development of the Sverdlovsk region, and also substantiates the need to orient strategic planning documents of industrial-type municipalities on the formation of a balanced humanitarian-technological space of a traditional-industrial region.
