Analysis of the impact of low-cost airlines on the development of regional airports: the experience of France

The article considers the experience of developing the activities of European low- cost airlines. Their contribution to the development of the route network of regional airports in France is evaluated. The key features of the French aviation market are highlighted; these are a high level of competition, a strong influence of low-cost air carriers on the route network of regional airports, a high rate of their passenger traffic, an extensive regional and international route network of air carriers. The expansion of cooperation between regional airports and low-cost airlines can become a key factor for Russian airlines to increase passenger traffic under modern conditions and an effective way of post-crisis recovery of the Russian passenger air transportation market. This requires the development of regional airports in the Russian Federation.
