The article discusses and analyzes design models adopted in domestic and foreign design codes for calculating the strength of flat concrete slabs at punching. It is shown that the inclusion of design parameters (aspect ratio of the column cross-section, the height of the plate section and the percentage of reinforcement) in the calculated dependencies for determining the strength of a reinforced concrete slab at punching improves the structural safety of the design decisions.
