Analysis of the impact of sanctions restrictions on the economies of Iran and Russia

The practice of imposing sanctions restrictions shows that their economic essence is always inextricably linked with the political goals pursued by the initiators of the sanctions. The paper presents a brief analysis of the impact of the sanctions restrictions on the Iranian economy. It is of certain interest, since the economy of this country has many analogies with the structure of the Russian economy. Based on statistical data from the Central Bank of Russia, expert assessments of the impact of sanctions restrictions on the development of the Russian economy are presented. It is concluded that the preservation of the regime of sanctions restrictions for the long term, on the one hand, will continue to have a negative impact on the development of the Russian economy. However, on the other hand, it will become an effective incentive to mobilize internal reserves in all sectors for the accelerated implementation of import substitution programs. Their successful implementation will minimize the negative impact of the sanctions restrictions on the development of the Russian economy.
