Analysis of the possibilities of integration of wind power plants into local energy grid of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous okrug

Бесплатный доступ

The article studies the opportunities and risks of introducing microgrids based on wind power plants for electrification of remote and isolated settlements in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. This region has unique climatic conditions and high wind potential, while the ecosystem of the region is vulnerable to pollution accompanying intensive industrial development. This determines the special urgency of integrating wind installations into local power grids. We discuss the advantages of microgrids as a realization of the concept of smart grids, which can significantly increase the energy autonomy of isolated settlements, traditionally dependent on diesel generators. The implementation of such technologies is fraught with risks, high costs and the need to modernize existing infrastructure. Despite the challenges, the advantages of introducing wind farms in the YNAO open up new opportunities for sustainable development of the region and the introduction of innovative renewable energy solutions.
