The article studies the phenomenon of analog photography in the context of network amateur communities, whose members are united by their passion for film photography. Being engaged in this vintage practice, amateur photographers put into their actions certain meanings. Thus, analog photography is a marker of certain expectations and social values. Film photography becomes the standard of the real, «man-made» beauty, the genuine object. This uniqueness is contrasted with the modern replicability, pipelining of works of art. Analog photo resists simulatively digital photography. Passion for film photography is becoming a way to cope with the high tension of modern life, an attempt to free oneself from digital dictates. Analog photo practices act as a certain form of «social nostalgia».
