Theoretical substantiation of specific features of the anatomy and topography of some wild, domestic and laboratory animals’ respiratory organs can be fragmentarily found in the works of Russian and foreign researchers. However, data on the structure and topography of the skeleton of the chest wall in different breeds of domestic dogs, differing in the diversity of the body structures, are fragmentary and in many ways contradictory. This paper gives a detailed description of the macro- and microanatomical structure of the chest skeleton in dolichosomatic and brachysomatic breeds of domestic dogs with different formats of the body structure. The features of the anatomical and topographic patterns of the distribution of osteohondrous structure of the chest in dogs with different body formats were studied. The article highlights the laws of correlative dependence of respiratory structures’ morphology on the particularities of the whole chest organocomplex, as well as on the morphofunctional characteristics of the musculoskeletal system. These laws result from specialization of different dog breeds both in different respiratory excursions and in certain mutually influencing types of movements.
