The search for the causes of high mortality in men draws the attention of researchers to the problem of early age androgen deficiency (VAD) as one of the little-studied risk factors for the development of chronic diseases and premature death. G. Phillips et al. (1994) noted that androgen deficiency contributes to the growth of cardiovascular diseases. M. Maggio et al. (2007) in a CHIANTI study, it was determined that a decrease in testosterone levels is an independent risk factor for mortality in men. In a controlled study by EPIC-Norfolk, it was found that the concentration of endogenous testosterone is inversely related to cardiovascular mortality, and low testosterone levels can be a predictor of a high risk of developing cardiovascular pathology.
