The article presents the results of the research on linguopoetic "ties", the existence of which proves the typological communion of literary process facts of the beginning and the end of the 20th century. The analysis was carried out on the material of the poetry by V. Mayakovsky and D. Arbenina. Animalistic metaphors which create a special mode in poetic works reflecting the interactions between satiric and convicting perception of outer world and self-irony, are the most frequently used by both writers. The specificity of animalistic metaphor in works by V. Mayakovsky and D. Arbenina lies in the fact that both writers find original ways of realization of metaphorical imagery, often being difficult to decode. This peculiarity of cognitive metaphor makes reader a participant of animated dialogue with an author. At this, the reader applies their background knowledge to understand the metaphorical transfer used by the author. The other variation of animalistic metaphor used by Mayakovsky and Arbenina is an autometaphor; its function lies in the metaphorization of image of a lyrical hero. Thus, the variety of forms and functions of metaphorical transfer observed in texts of both writers lets us draw the conclusion about typological similarity of the ways of their creative reflection. This reflection is conditioned not only by the external factors (similar crisis and transitional times) but also by the internal ones (genetic interrelation and succession).
