The problem of consumption of alcoholic drinks is actual now. The article presents a comparative analysis of regional embodiment of the anti-drinking and alcoholism campaign in the Chelyabinsk region in the 1930s. and 1980s. among industrial workers. It is shown that the problem of alcohol consumption in these years and now is very important. It is noted that alcoholism was represented and represents today a serious social problem for society and the state, to the detriment of public health, the family, and society. The authors concluded that a more rational policy in relation to the production and consumption of alcoholic beverages is necessary to understanding the historical experience of struggle against drunkenness and alcoholism.
