A reduced effectiveness of antibiotics in treatment of purulent infections is noted nowadays. This is due to secondary antibiotic resistance of microflora as well as disturbed population immunoresistance. The author analyses the causes of reduced effectiveness of antibiotic therapy of purulent infection and proposes possible ways of overcoming them.
