The article demonstrates that a characteristic feature of ecofuturology as a relatively new branch of philosophical thought within eco-philosophy is the recognition of humanity's unique mission in preserving and shaping nature, consciously constructing the future for both itself and the entire planet, legitimizing its subjectivity in the imperative of choice. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of finding ways to build harmonious multidimensional relationships for modern humans as biopsychospiritual beings with the surrounding world. The historical roots of the conceptual idea of ecofuturology are analyzed, particularly the "anthropological turn" of Russian cosmism, and its distinction from ideas of Western ecologically oriented philosophical thought. The article also consistently argues for the radical necessity of planning life by humans at individual, state, and even global levels.
