Anthropogenic changes of geosystems on the Middle Amur lowland: retrospective analysis

In the paper the authors describe man's impact on geosystems in the Middle Amur Lowland at several stages of the Amur Region development (from the middle of the XIX century to the 90-ies of the XX century.). They have used historical and geographic data on natural conditions and factors of land use. Long-term environmental changes trends for the Middle Amur Lowland have been identified. The extension of agricultural lands, felling, new settlements and roads are identified by the authors as the factors leading to degradation of the forest cover, changes in the complexes of wood, swamp, meadow and other geosystems, intensification of forest fires.
