The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the ideas of human rights and human dignity based on a Christian anthropological perspective. Te human is viewed as an existential creature. Te application of law is viewed as an individual act that constitutes both the person and the society. Te purpose of the application of law is different in the various Christian confessions. Te ideas that are reflected in the main documents of the Russian Orthodox Church are evaluated in the context of the basic documents of the United Nations and the theories of “post-secularism” and “multiple modernities”
