Apocalypse (Revelation of St. John the Devine) has always attracted Russian poets, but the detailed philological analysis of the texts in comparison with the original can be seldom found. The article shows the symbol of a shooting star (comet) in Russian poetry (poems of A. Fet, N. Gumilev, M. Voloshin, S. Esenin, A. Blok, our contemporary priestmonk Roman, etc.) in the context of Apocalypse and on the basis of patristic Christian tradition.
