The Arakcheev military settlements in the context of the theory of disarmament

The article provides an updated interpretation of the activity of a high-ranking official of the Russian Empire Arakcheev to establish military settlements. In the context of history and theory of the militia forms of defense construction, later adopted by socialist parties of Russia and of the world, this pattern of activity becomes brighter and more attractive. It can be better compared with the conclusions about the possibility of a repetition of certain features of this experience for using in the other historical conditions.
