Areflux jejunostomy in surgery of esophageal cancer stenosis

Sixteen patients aged 45 to 65 with cancer stenosis of the esophagus were examined and treated. All the patients were divided into 2 groups: the 1-st group consisted of 7 patients, who in perioperative period received enteral feeding by the jejunostomy in clinic modification; the 2-nd group (n=9) had total parenteral nutrition. The results of investigation indicated that enteral feeding by the areflux jejunostomy possessed all advantages of parenteral nutrition, reduced number of complications, shortened the time of hospital stay and allowed to keep the stomach for further esophagogastroplastic.
