Argentina in the era of Kirchnerism (2003-2015)

The study deals with the phenomenon of “left turn” in Argentina that is insufficiently studied in the Russian political science. The paper analyzes the policy of the Kirchner family in Argentina. It discusses whether their political regime is dictatorship. Kirchner's policy demonstrates the dictatorial characteristics and represents a hybrid type of dictatorship which officially follows democratic rules. The research revealed that 12 years of Kirchnerism had a negative impact on the country; the model K led to the corruption among senior government officials, the country's economic decline, the increase in poverty rates, the economic data manipulation. The author concluded that the Kirchners managed to succeed in some areas. However, in a later period, Kirchnerism showed its negative side leaving the country in distress.
