The article reveals the distinctive features of reasoning in forensic rhetoric. It describes the types of reasons, strategy and tactics of reasoning used by speakers in the court. Based on speeches by Russian forensic speakers, the study shows that reasoning is demonstrative, effective and efficient means of influence and persuasion.
