Archaeological survey at the territory of Northern Kazakhstan in 2015

The common Russian Kazakh expedition of IAET SB RAS and National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the widespread survey at the territory of East Kazakh, Pavlodar, Akmolinsk and North Kazakh Regions. As the eastern coast of Bukhtarma reservoir well as Upper and Middle Irtysh and Ishim Rivers were the priority investigated areas. All the way numbers 8500 km. In studies of Bukhtarma reservoir the expedition explored as the area of the eastern coast between Altaika and Kurchum villages well as Bukhtarma River valley from the outfall to upper river. The most ancient artificial complex was found at the Kurchum occurrence (Lower - Upper Paleolithic). A few Neolithic occurrences were discovered in the coastal area of Upper and Middle Irtysh River, from the Bukhtarma storage dam to Zhelezinka village. Team investigated as the coast of numerous salty lakes near Ekibastuz town well as Shiderty River valley and obtained more than 10 Paleolithic localities (Middle Paleolithic - Neolithic). The exploration in Ishim River Valley included the survey near Arshaly village (Vishnevka) and itinerary down the river: Arshaly - Astana - Derzhavinsk - Petropavlovsk. The new archaeological objects were not fixed. This survey permitted to discover a few tens of the new Paleolithic occurrences with mainly exposed archaeological materials and outline the most perspective areas for the further research.
