The paper reports on the results of rescue archaeological excavations of the Daryino-1 kurgan burial ground located in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow Region which were conducted in 2016. The methodology for excavating large kurgans which, in addition to kurgan mounds, included small ditches, intra-kurgan space and the off-kurgan area into the boundaries of the excavation trench provided an opportunity to collect new interesting data on the site partially excavated earlier in the 1950s-1960s. The paper contains a summary of the distinctive features of the kurgan construction and the funeral rite, and publishes materials from the gathered collection. The studies conducted clarified the dating of the burial ground as the second half of the 12th - first half of the 13th centuries. The site is attributed to the ancient Russian tribe known as the Vyatichi.
