Architectonics of myomatous nodes in women undergoing uterine artery embolization

In this study, we analyzed the types of the microcirculatory bed in women with uterine fibroids, location of myomatous nodes, characteristics of microcirculation before and after uterine artery embolization, and architectonics of myomatous nodes in patients with postembolization syndrome of varying severity. We found that hyperemic blood flow was associated with a greater number of myomatous nodes. Patients with mild to moderate postembolization syndrome were more likely to have intratumoral nodes, whereas severe postembolization syndrome was significantly more frequent in women with low blood flow before uterine artery embolization.
