The article discusses and justifies decisions on the production architecture within the framework of the “Industry 4.0” concept. The general vision of the development of the concept is presented, the definition of the architecture of digital production is given. The analysis of the available publications allowed us to define and supplement the properties of the digital production architecture, which allows us to present the overall picture, taking into account the main features and properties of digital production. As an example, we consider the architecture of an enterprise with common functional areas, which are grouped into the areas of centers by specialization. The addition of the classical approach to building the architecture of the enterprise and production, taking into account the promising developments in the field of digital production, allows you to expand the functionality and provide a perspective for further research and study. Despite the difficulties of implementing such projects today, the authors propose to take into account the current level of production and use it for scientific and technical developments and training of highly qualified personnel. It is assumed that in the foreseeable future, due to the lack of specialists and highly efficient capacities: production, management, consumers and research centers - will be enlarged and concentrated in order to optimize costs and improve product quality. According to the authors, the most effective tool in the study and implementation of digital production is the modeling of technological and management solutions, taking into account the maximum load of automated flexible and modular production. The introduction of elements at the initial stage of the transition to digital production implies the development of promising samples for several generations to come, which allows us to provide a competitive advantage at the initial stage and then maintain a leading position in the market. The economic effect of training personnel for the future, taking into account the concept of “Industry 4.0” and working out the issue of developing promising models for the initial stage of transformation for digital production, can provide an increase in production efficiency by 10-25%.
