The Great Patriotic War takes the central place in the Russian history. The investigation of regional history, specifically that of the Bert-Usovsky Nasleg within the Ust-Aldan Ulus during the period of 1941–1945, facilitates the reconstruction of a comprehensive, profound, and emotionally resonant understanding of the war and its impact on individual destinies. Of particular significance in this context is the work of G.N. Efimov, a battlefront veteran and native of this ulus, who compiled a unique archive containing biographies of veterans, photographs, and reminiscences of relatives (comprising a total of 78 files, corresponding to the number of personal records of front-line soldiers from the nasleg). Comparative analysis of G.N. Efimov’s personal archive with data from the “Memory” memorial book, as well as data from the AIS “ELAR-Archive” of the National Archive of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), elucidates the complexities associated with refining information on battlefront veterans. Specifica-tion of the information about the people mobilized during the years of the Great Patriotic War will undoubtedly help to fill gaps, will help to preserve the memory about defenders of the Motherland.
