Archival documents on the history of Buryat’s economy of the XIX century

The article deals with the archival documents revealing the development of the economy of Buryatia in the XIX century. This paper analyzes the documents of the National Archives of the Republic of Buryatia, the State Archives of the Irkutsk region, the Archives of the Orientalists of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg Branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is revealed that the annual reports and Stepnyi doom’s statistics are the most informative. They provide a comprehensive picture of Buryat’s economy. They contain information about the natural conditions, the size and composition of the population in the Buryat departments, of taxation; materials for animal husbandry, farming, hunting, fishing, crafts, private enterprises, trade and other activities. It is shown that in the Stepnyi doom’s archives along with the same type there are rare documents, which reflect the significant events that took place in the economy of the Buryats.
