Arctic vector of geological research: oil and gas and mineral raw resources

It is shown that the Russian Arctic is characterized by considerable oil and gas and mineral raw potential. Considerable reserves and resources of oil, gas, coal, manganese and copper ores, polymetals, optical fluorite and other mineral resources are located within Arctic territories of Timan-Ural region (Komi Republic and Nenets Autonomous District) including shelf zone. Oil and gas and mineral raw resources are a good basis for industrial development of the region. At the same time the geological exploration degree of Arctic remains comparatively low. It is necessary to conduct further research works toward a more complete discovery of laws of geological structure of Arctic and adjacent territories, solving problems of geodynamics, geochronology, metallogeny.
