Armenian Gregorians and Catholics in 1860-s (based upon the case study of the published notes of count N.P. Ignatyev)

The article recounts the main events of the Armenian Gregorians and Armenian Catholics history of the 1860-s. Armenians’ religion in many ways predetermined the historic destiny of the nation. And many religious problems of the Armenian people were determined by their dispersion over the territory of the Middle East and Asia. The second half of the 19th century was marked by the crisis of the Greek Church, which immediately the representatives of the Western churches took advantage of. The Catholic and Protestant propaganda touched not only Greeks, Bulgarians, but also massively affected the Armenian people.
