The asymmetry of biathletes' skate skiing and the methods to diagnose it

Бесплатный доступ

The paper considers the impact of human functional asymmetry on sporting achievements. In addition, it discusses the methods to diagnose the motor asymmetry and the means to define space-time and biomechanical characteristics of biathletes in the process of skate skiing. The authors took a poll among coaches of Krasnoyarsk Krai sport biathlon schools' which supported the thesis that presently the peculiarities of an individual profile of biathletes, asymmetry are not virtually taken into account for organizing a training process, which results in reducing its efficiency. It was found during the work that biathletes' skate skiing training should be started with simultaneous two-step skate skiing, whose efficiency increases during performing it using a dominant sportsman's side.
