There are considered various approaches to decoding error-correcting codes in light of achievement of extremely possible power prize at received code vectors restoration. There are comparative estimations for hard and soft decoding methods. There is shown the efficiency increase opportunity of binary error-correcting codes soft decoding due to replacement of Hamming metrics by procedure of consecutive approximation to the received code vector decision.
