Audiology markers of Meniere’s disease: biophysical aspects of research

Бесплатный доступ

The present study deals with the results of diagnostic tests for Meniere’s disease based on the change of sound-transmission qualities (reactive resistance of stiffness and / or viscosity) of the endolymph and inside the labyrinth structures. This new method explains the pathogenic mechanisms of Meniere’s disease with a biophysical point of view as a complex mechanism of adaptation to ischemia of the labyrinth and the labyrinth-dependent CNS structures. For the analysis of the results were used: complex tone threshold audiometry and audiometry in an extended frequency range allowed to make biophysical (quantitative) calculation of the parameters of the inner ear and analysis functions of its structures, and recording procedure of short-evoked potential (ABRs). The study identified the most typical diagnostic features (markers) of Meniere’s disease for each method.
