The article examines the situation of the USSR aviation industry in the second half of the 1930s, identifies the causes of the lag in aircraft construction and measures to overcome it. Special attention is paid to the analysis of organizational and engineering solutions aimed at optimizing production and improving the flight performance and tactical characteristics of soviet combat aircraft.
