Aviation arsenal in the Volga region: its placement, production, modernization during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945

In the article based on the archival materials the author analyzes process of formation of the aviation industrial complex in the Volga region on the eve and during the great Patriotic war. He reveals the issues related to the evacuation, the disposition of aviation enterprises, the recruitment of working personnel, the dynamics of industrial production, the modernization of military aircraft and its implementation in mass production.
