The article is devoted to the unfinished novel «The visions of life» (1919) written by Sergey Auslender. Autobiographic aspects of the novel are studied. It is emphasized that the novel, as well as the novel «The last companion» (1913), is based on vicissitudes of the relationships once established between Auslender and N.I.Petrovskaia. Analyzing the events of his life that date back to the middle of the 1910-s and that took place without participation of Petrovskaia, Auslender did not only invest the heroine with her features, but also created the plot in accordance with psychological situations that refer to his «affair» with Petrovskaia. Obvious plot parallels between the «The visions of life» and the author’s destiny allow to regard the novel as an autobiographic one.
